A Jewel in the Crown of Manhattan. |
If you don’t know who Jennifer Creel is, you must not live in Manhattan, or follow society's biggest players. In the city that never sleeps, there are few that stand out against the backdrop of flashing neon signs or the brawling noise of traffic. In the Big Apple, the rules are simple. If you’re not attractive, you must be fashionable. If you’re not fashionable, you must be rich. If you’re not rich, you must be elegant. If you’re none of these things, you’re in the wrong city. However, if you’re Jennifer Creel – beautiful, fashionable, well-heeled and elegant – your social calendar is booked.
There aren't many amongst the steady stream of New York Social Diary makers that catch one’s eye for long. There
is usually some noticeable detail of appearance that finally collapses, a crack
of character that ultimately surfaces, or, as they age, transform into a style
more befitting an “It Girl” than a woman on the social register. Jennifer is
one of the exceptional few. A lady whose fashion-forward, yet classic, style, has
made her the poster girl for modern chic.
From model to actress, businesswoman and fashion fixture, Ms.
Creel has also added successful entrepreneur to her impressive résumé. She is
passionate about her craft, working side by side with a detailed artisan who
turns her vision into tangible form. With her jewelry and accessories line (www.jennifercreel.com)
and her partnership with friend and fellow fashion maven, Chris Mack (forming Creel-Mack, www.creel-mack.com),
being Jennifer Creel is a juggling act not for the faint of heart. “I am very
fortunate and thankful. I get to travel all these places, and meet people, while
working to build my company. I strive to have a clientele that is all over the
world,” says the busy mother of three.
A Little Charm Goes a Long Way. |
Yet, if you think Jennifer Creel is either all work or all play, you miss the most intriguing part of her; a huge heart. Most near and dear to that heart are: Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Museum of the City of New York and The Boys' Club of New York. For a lady whose life is a glamorous whirlwind, she is still tireless in her plight for the less fortunate. We could all take more than one lesson from Jennifer Creel.
“Elegance
is a glowing inner peace. Grace is an ability to give as well as to receive and
be thankful. Mystery is a hidden laugh always ready to surface! Glamour only
radiates if there is a sublime courage and bravery within: glamour is like the
moon; it only shines because the sun is there.”

HOW TO ACCOMPLISH HARMONY OF STYLE
“My harmony of style is created by deciding which piece of my outfit will stand out; whether it’s a bold piece of jewelry or a loud print or color. I let that shine, while the rest of my outfit incorporates simple and classic pieces. Educate yourself with current fashion trends and mix those with timeless pieces, but don’t lose your sense of style and individuality.”
“My favorite causal winter look would have to be my MiH
(Made In Heaven) jeans with a white button-down blouse, paired with my Creel-Mack
slippers. To me, this outfit creates a sense of chic style, while still
maintaining comfort and warmth! As for my favorite night on the town look, it
would have to be a gorgeous Valentino dress; always elegant and chic.”
“Don’t overdo it. Keep it
simple. I believe simplicity speaks louder than complexity. I like to do my
make-up very light, so it appears as if you’re not wearing any at all; very
youthful and natural. As for my hair, Kevin Lee at the Kenneth Salon, in
the Waldorf, has been cutting my hair for years. He is so talented. I usually
wear my hair up in a ponytail, a slick bun or just down and wavy.”

Who better to instruct us lesser mortals on how to put our finest
social foot forward than a woman with one of the most enviable wardrobes in the
world, and an equally enviable sense of style?
